What "The Surge" means for 2008
Another brilliantly-conceived plan by Karl Rove which will work, if Democrats are stupid enough to play along.

If enough troops are thrown at Iraq violence will go down--temporarily. But "The Surge" is nothing more than "Shock and Awe 2007". Iraqi resistance will return to their hidey-holes until we're not paying attention, then it's back to business as usual. If the nation sees "democracy being built" in Iraq and they see it until November 2008, we lose the presidency.

It's a gamble but it's all they have. 30,000 troops will be expanded to over 100,000 once Democrats sign on in principle.

1. I'm not worried
not one ploy or tactic they have tried has worked since Katrina...they pissed the Big Guy Upstairs off by allowing Americans to float by the cameras in the streets and to leave thousands stranded begging for food and water.I do not fear anything the Karl Roves or any of his ilk do anymore. This is another political calculation that'll blow up in their faces-just like every other one has since what I like to call The Curse Of Katrina

3. Exactly, their cynical methods of manipulation of the impressions
and the media are finally obvious to most of the voters. Even the freepers know it - they're just refusing to realize reality for now.

2. If ? the dems play along?
I don't understand the dems, they seem to be fine with a "temporary escalation". How does anyone on the planet think that this is temporary? Why does anyone trust the chimp? Are the dems in line with the repukes?
Nothing makes sense anymore and the fact that the election was only a month ago and they have already forgotten the "mandate". The election was a joke to pacify the masses. This is why they did not have to steal the election, because the outcome did not matter. Both sides were in on the fix- the repukes win, they run the government. the dems win- they let the repukes win while they position themselves for an 08 run. Whoever wins in 08 repuke or dem will not change a damn thing.
