Someday maybe a politician will break down the Marijuana wall.
Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 05:06 AM by Philosoraptor
Maybe someday, but I doubt it will be soon, some politician or group of them will say, 'look, we need to stop jailing people for smoking, possessing or selling marijuana'. That's it. Just decriminalize it. Free all those pot smoking political prisoners, stop ruining lives by busting little old ladies who have a half a joint.

But all the politicians would like to be re elected, this fact alone keeps pot illegal, the fact that if a politician stood up and said decriminalize weed, he or she'd be history.

2. Making it legal would take out half the profits at least
But, if someone was smart they'd be preparing for the day when it IS legal, and the profits will come screaming back.

4. no one can argue beyond this basic fact
That it is illegal while the other two substances aren't. It's just childish.

5. Here's a virtual wall
http://www.november.org/thewall/

Now that you mention it, a physical wall would be appropriate too... one that
listed the name of every death from the drugs war, where people could set flowers
for loved ones lost to the warmongers.

7. Lenny Bruce thought marijuana would one day be legal because. . .
". . .the many law students who now smoke pot will some day become Congressmen and legalize it in order to protect themselves."

Unfortunately, that was 41 years ago, so those Congresscritters' children serve in Congress now and there doesn't seem much hope the laws will be changed anytime soon.

9. There's hope for a change
According to MPP, the electorate is increasing its likelyhood towards legallization of cannabis at
1% per year, and that a referendum in nevada should achieve outright legality within 6 years.

The other hope, is that the plunging dollar and the bankrupt war state can't afford the cost of these graphs:

It is sickening the scale of the drugs war crime, if nothing else, it is on a headon collision with the budget.
