Twin irritants - Anderson Cooper and Rick Sanchez......
Yes, I know, Cooper can sometimes do a reasonable job (but his relatively new habit of talking so fast that he has to gasp for breath after every phrase....I guess he considers it all to be breaking news....) - but with family hoping for a rescue on Mount Hood, do we have to get the gonzo, boffo, worthless, idiot named Rick Sanchez out in the snow telling everyone how terribly dangerous and dire it is? This is the worst of shock journalism.

Or - perhaps they put Sanchez out in dangerous situations hoping that someday he will meet his maker. Incredible that they show Aaron Brown the door and retain Einsteins such as Carol Lin and Rick Sanchez....simply incredible.

5. Oh, so do I! I was thinking about him just yesterday. Where is
he, and what is he up to? I so miss his self-deprecating humor, and dry wit. He disappointed me at times but he was an honest reporter,IMO. Give me Aaron Brown over Blitzer, Cooper and everyone else currently at CNN.

2. "For our viewers who are unfamiliar with this story"
Listen close, because we are only gonna show this fifty more times.

God, what an amateur.

You should hear my friend Tom Snyder's (remember The Late, Late Show?) take on Cooper.

6. Tom moved to our town about twelve years ago.

I hang out with him every morning on a deck on our town's Main Street (all two blocks of it).

Every day, we solve most of the World's problems only to discover that they have returned by the next morning.

The Tom you used to see is the Tom we have today. He is one of my life's true treasures.

He has leukemia, but he is running pretty free and clear at present.

Heck, even our dogs (my Golden Retriever, Seamus, and his Olde English Sheep Dog, Trevor) are best friends.

Tom is a fascinating character and he is a walking history of radio and television.

And he effing hates *.

7. Tom S.

Please tell Mr. Snyder that I adored every minute of him. I started watching him when I was 16 and he always made me think. I met my husband in a bar while Tom was on the TV. We were rabid fans of his, and started a conversation about him sitting next to each other on a bar stool. The next thing you know, we were married. Still married. 21 years.

I'd pay you ANYTHING to get an autograph...

8. I'm sure he has many fans here.
As a teen I tried to stay up every night to watch his show. We could use a few more Tom Snyders - I'm glad he is doing well.

12. I will do that
Tom is one of the coolest people who I have ever known.

He can be such a hard-ass in one sentence, a philosoper, in the next, and a sweetheart all at the same time.
He has incredible insight into how things really work on a very critical plane.

11. I used to listen to his radio show every night when I lived in High Point
Edited on Fri Dec-15-06 11:58 PM by libnnc
I even got a chance to talk to him briefly on the air. He kept me company on many a lonely night.

I watched his show as a kid. My mom used to let me stay up really late on Friday nights. It aired on NBC affiliate WFBC/WYFF-TV 4 in Greenville, SC. We lived in Western NC and TV 4 was our nearest NBC affiliate.

Please send him my love from North Carolina and best wishes for his continued good health.

TS will always be the greatest.

Libnnc

Edit to add: I have vivid memories of those old Greenwood Chevrolet commercials. They were a "Tomorrow Show" sponsor. :D

But it will be cold here, tomorrow (low 50s) and Tom will be hit-and-run.

Maybe we could collect a group of Tom Fans and have a big party out here.

We live in one of the coolest places in the country.
