Bloomington Il Pantagraph - Five percent of U.S. workers have second jobs
An interesting article featuring real folks in today's economy. I believe the numbers by the US Dept of Labor are rather "cooked", with the % 's much higher as us wage slaves try to make ends meet.

1. US Dept of Labor numbers have been cooked since the Ragun years
The Reagan regime was the first to get creative in the reporting of labor numbers with the way unemployment was reported

2. I check the obits in the Pantagrapgh weekly.
I used to live in Bloomington.

Interesting about that article: I noticed that middle class people in Central
Illinois always acted like they were wealthy.

Of course, the area was much "redder" back then. I think there were
about 5 of us Dems. Even the sheriff changed parties so he could
get reelected.

3. that seems like low-balling to me.
As a state employee, I don't know a single person among my co-workers below management level who does not work 2 jobs. Not too long ago I had 3 jobs, but fortunately can get by now on just 2 (1 & 1/2).
