So, why does the DU spellchecker find "Repukes" as a misspell?

3. It's a politically correct dictionary. |
|
Other words it refuses to recognize:
Repug Knuckledragger O'Liely Bushit Chimperor Clenis
There are surely more...

5. LOL, you can get some computer programs to recognize |
|
words, maybe DU can't, but such a program could get it to recognize certain words - I guess it does the same for "moran" and "screwn?"
Which means Freeperville has no spellchecker, or the freepers rarely use it.

6. Could you imagine the chaos if we altered the spell check |
|
to accommodate the words we copy to mock the poor learning skills of the Repukes?
"moran" "internets" etc....

8. I've been using Iespell, its a right click and with options of a dictionary and wipipedia |
|
and it allows you to add words which I like because I barely can make myself type republican so I type repuke and iespell accepts that

11. We are definitely screwn! |

Wouldn't it be horrid to find out that is actually a past participle of screw, or was in the middle ages or something?

I use the one in the new Firefox 2.0 -- I can just add to dictionary so the squiggly red lines disappear. It's understandable that a dictionary used by the public won't necessarily include colloquials. But dictionaries you use in outlook, office or Firefox are customizable, so add away.
But the DU 'check spelling' is sensitive to Canadian spellings and words; it doesn't think 'labour' is wrong or it doesn't try to hyphenate chesterfield!! (more of that 'projection of American power' :eyes:)
A lot of online dictionaries do oppress 'u' (yuk yuk yuk)
