Is anybody boycotting Rockstar Energy drinks?
I just found out that they're produced by a company run by the son of Michael Savage, who works with his father in ultra right-wing politics and ran as a right-wing candidate for the California Assembly.

10. I don't think I've drunk a Dr Pepper in 30 years but my buddy and I INVENTED
"hot" DP. I am not kidding...this was in 1958. We were juniors in HS in Tulsa staying up all night to watch for UFOs (another story) and there was no coffee - we heated up some DP and thought it wasn't bad, and the next day Gary and I wrote up a suggestion and mailed it off to whatever address we scared up. They never replied but I swear to God a couple months later there were commercials saying it was good. Okay, maybe we weren't actually the very first, but the timing was very 'interesting'. I'm not bullshitting, this is a true story.

Read the back of a can or bottle next time you buy one.

17. Could you elaborate?
I've never seen ads for Monster energy drinks, and Monster Khaos is the only one I'll drink - one of those cans got me through the last Race for the Cure, complete with twisted ankle.

19. In the market, the posters on the walls are
extremely sexualized women with the drink, one poster has the drink in the woman's thong.

5. I boycott all 'energy drinks' because they taste like crap
They seem to be made from Sweet-Tarts dissolved in water.

If I'm tired, I just drink fair-trade coffee (from "Just Coffee" an importer/roaster just 2 blocks away)...

8. From salon.com...
http://archive.salon.com/news/feature/2004/05/20/savage/print.html

"The 30-something Weiner is the founder of RockStar, an energy drink that he developed with his dad, drawing on Savage's previous career as a Marin County herbalist and ethnobotanist named Michael Weiner. RockStar's herbal liver-cleansing formula is supposed to enable drinkers to "party like a rock star," which presumably means drinking and doping. Generous free samples had been passed out to the crowd on the way in. It lived up to its hype: The antifreeze-colored, cough-syrup-flavored beverage can only be enjoyed if you're taking drugs."

29. Lucky you.
I don't understand why Savage lives in Marin when he loathes the people so much. I know it's scenic but he could buy a place somewhere else on the coast and find people who are closer to his politics.

14. I have always boycotted all forms of commercial sugar water.
With or without caffeine. It's just insane how much of the nation's money goes down the drain to feed the habit for drugged sugar water.
