How telling that we are forced to watch British documentaries to get real information about our own system. This would never be shown in the United States.

The prison industry tortures Americans on a daily basis. The way that we treat those among us least able to look after themselves says a lot about our society as a whole. We have more people in prison than any other country, and we do not treat them well. This video reveals a lot of it. This is real stuff. They treat these men like animals. They taser a man with a broken ankle and make him crawl quickly.

This goes on every day here. Texas is not the only place. Abu Graib is a reflection of a violent system that has been entrenched here for decades. Some of you may have seen this one before, but it's worth a relook. We need to fight torture everywhere - here and abroad.
