RE: The SOTU and Democratic Response
My humble opinion:

"Do you think I made a mistake, splitting his brain between the two of them?"

7. I gotta agree
I did NOT like this guy at all. I didn't like what he had to say or the way he was saying it.

His delivery made him sound like the preacher that comes on at 6:15 every morning to offer the 'Thought for the Day'. Smarmy and creepy and makes my skin crawl.

Why didnt Howard Dean give the Democratic response, hmm??

4. I don't get it
The man is a democrat who won a tough election in VA that everyone thought was going to be a lot closer then it was. He has plenty of "liberal" chops, and has been a good democrat throughout his career. You guys are acting like he stood there and patted Bush on the back and said that we should attack Iran.

10. not quite all of it
http://www.washblade.com/2006/1-20/news/localnews/kaine.cfm

"A spokesman for Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine clarified today that he opposes the scope of the constitutional amendment banning gay marriage working its way quicklty through the Virginia legislature, but will nonetheless sign the measure as written if it is adopted, putting it to a referendum."

11. Thats the VA constitution..
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 11:28 PM by Wolsh
and he's leaving it up to VA voters. What he does oppose is the federal government deciding for the rest of the country

13. same difference to me
from the above linked article:

"Kaine, a Democrat sworn into office just this week, agrees with the first line of the amendment, which limits marriage to a man and woman, but does not support the additional language, she said. Kaine wants to discuss measures "to make sure people can still be able to contract with each other," Skinner said.

However, she added, "he does plan to sign the bill to take it to referendum."

6. Bush said his education policies are "wreaking havoc"?
I didn't catch Bush saying that, but Kaine did...

The administration's No Child Left Behind Act is wreaking havoc on local school districts.

12. Well that's not all
With Billions being wasted on a senseless war, why would this idiot cut 12 million (a drop in the bucket)from Pell grants. This does not make any sense at all. Democrats need to stand up and show the proof and tell it like it is ..Bush is now spending more on educating Iraqi children than he is here in America...
