Pubbies whine about having to work a 5 day week....
Edited on Thu Dec-07-06 09:13 AM by Virginia Dare
Kingston needs to get home so his constituents can call him a stupid SOB

-snip-

"Keeping us up here eats away at families," said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. "Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families -- that's what this says."

Time away from Washington is just as important to being an effective member of Congress as time spent in the Capitol, Kingston added. "When I'm here, people call me Mr. Congressman. When I'm home, people call me 'Jack, you stupid SOB, why did you vote that way?' It keeps me grounded."

-snip-

Roy Blunt tried a little reverse psychology :eyes:

House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), one of the architects of the lighter workweek, put the best Republican face on Hoyer's new schedule.

"They've got a lot more freshmen then we do," he said of the Democrats. "That schedule will make it incredibly difficult for those freshmen to establish themselves in their districts. So we're all for it."

-snip

The new schedule poses a headache for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), who runs her 7-year-old daughter's Brownie troop meetings on Monday afternoons in Weston, Fla. "I'll have to talk to the other mothers and see if we can move it to the weekend," she said.

Setting a calendar that satisfies 435 members is impossible, said the current majority leader, Rep. John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), who will become minority leader in January. "Between the travel issues, the members' work schedules, the family and district issues, it was a Rubik's cube," he said. :nopity:

Welcome to the real world asswipes, where thousands of single parents, and parents who have to work two jobs each just to keep food on the table and pay the medical bills deal with this on a day to day basis. GET TO WORK AND DO THE JOB YOU WERE ELECTED TO DO ASSHOLES. Who gives a rat's ass about your private logisitical issues.

1. Of course this schedule will also make it tough for President
Bush to make recess appointments. Poor guy. You can see why they'd be whining.

4. Hey, they volunteered! Hell, they FOUGHT for those jobs
All along I had no idea Congress had a 3 day work week.

Couple that with a starting salary of a Senator of 160,000, but factor in that they're working 3/5ths as much as the rest of us, and the number is now 224,000 ( my math sucks, I could be wrong )

Goddamn SLACKERS!

5. No shit, slackers!
"Five WHOLE days???? In ONE week????"

Yeah assholes, welcome to a taste of the real world, where some of us actually have to work SIX days, in ONE week, EVERY week, just to put food on our families.

It kinda pisses ya off, but then again, I spent a good part of the day yesterday laughing at these pathetic whiners. I swear, what a tantrum they're throwing!

I'll bet the folks on their third or fourth extended tour of duty in Iraq, miss their families too. But those soldiers are taking care of the country's/GOP's/PNAC's business and for a hell of a sight less money than we're paying Jack Kingston.

Send Jack To Iraq!

10. Perhaps if THEY had been working more than 3 days a week........
THEY might have GOTTEN SOMETHING DONE!!!! It was easier to allow bushco to run amok if THEY ONLY worked 3 days a week.
