ISG and Gary Larson
All this ISG blather on tv today reminds me of an old Gary Larson cartoon:

where what a guy says vs. what a dog really hears...

bla bla bla bal bla bla ROVER...bla bla blabla bla bla bla bla ROVER bla bla bla ROVER bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla.

well, I've been Rover most of the day (Larry King just had on some of the group) because of all the comments on this ISF I have no fuggin' clue what they are talking about. They are saying absolutely Nothing to me of any substance. To me they have no idea of what the fug to do but are just bla bla bla bla ROVERING us all.

1. I think of another Larson cartoon whenever I see anybody
from the right fringe ranting on TV.

Over the shrink's shoulder, ranter on the couch, notepad says "Just plain NUTS!"

2. some of my favourites:
""Whose the brains of this outfit?""
(cartoon is of a group sitting around a table and one guy has this Huuuuge cranium).

One deer pointing to another in the forest, close-up:
"Hell of a birthmark, Harry" (birthmark was a bullseye)

Bears around a camping group snoring in their sleeping bags:
" Mmmmmm! Sandwiches!"

3. Mine: Two Goldfish Standing Outside The Fishbowl While Fire Rages Inside The Castle In The Fishbowl
Then there's the caption: "Course, now we're equally screwed".

 That one always tickled my funny bone.

4. the one with the cat and the gum ball machine...
only it's mice in the gum-gall machine - mice with terrorized eyes with one screaming: 'Randy's going down!!"

I recall sitting around with my sister and going through a Larson 'toon book one particular night and literally falling over laughing our hysterical asses off.

5. That's A Good One Too. It's Been A Long Time Since I've Read Them, But I
used to read through them religiously to kill time. I spent most of my early teen years grounded in my room so I needed somethin to do. He always cracked me up!

7. The first one I ever saw was the two cows sitting on a couch...
...and one said (indicating the telephone) "There it goes again. And here we sit, without opposable thumbs."
That damn near sent me into hysterics...still makes me giggle.

8. And the one with the polar bears and the igloo--
"I just LOVE these things! Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside!"

And the cicada graduation speech "And so, as you enter the adult phase of your life, you will thank God that these past 17 years of being stuck in the ground and unable to move are over.....Congratulations, cicadas of '94!"

15. another dog one...
memory isn't so good anymore but I think it went something like this:

two dogs talking/barking at each other while passing in cars.

"... and then they said they are going to get me Tutored!" while tail wags with delight.
