It is important enough to be in two forums. I posted it in GDP. I did a glance but did not do a thorough search. So I deleted in GD

1. After the Keith Olbermann anthrax incident I thought these guys would be more responsible.
Well, I guess I was wrong. They are gonna keep spreading this hateful crap, while their right wing terrorist viewers get their little messages and do domestic terrorism. These guys really need a clue.

3. CNN does not appear to care about his "political" views. Contact info
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 01:41 AM by madfloridian
"The Times article quoted CNN executive Kenneth Jautz as saying that the network did not take Beck's politics into account when it hired him. "We did not set out to have anyone from any particular view fronting these shows," he said. In fact, CNN hired Beck knowing that the host's repertoire included hateful attacks--the Hurricane Katrina refugees seen on TV and the father of a terrorism victim were both "scumbags" (Mediamatters.org, 5/17/04, 9/9/05)--as well as a disturbing preoccupation with violence: Beck has told his listeners that he was praying for a gruesome death for Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich (3/16/03), and that he was fantasizing about strangling filmmaker Michael Moore to death (5/17/05). As FAIR predicted (FAIR Action Alert, 1/18/06), Beck has not changed his repellent tune simply because he's been hired by a major media outlet."

I never watch him and I did not know all this stuff. This is truly alarming.

4. Like a lot of those guys, he's a gutless coward
People like to mouth the slogan, "Freedom isn't free," but they seem to think only professional military people should actually assume any of the risk of preserving freedom.

The risk that somebody might murder you or your family for political reasons is an unfortunate cost of real freedom. And if you can't handle that, you're a coward. Much worse, Beck and O'Reilly and Hannity and many other TV weasels on all sides of the political spectrum are ADVOCATES of cowardice.

10. Well Said, Sir
The entire policy of this present administration has been, since September of 2001, nothing more or less than the systematic inculcation of cowardice in the people of the country. Nothing could be more profoundly un-American.

First They Came for the Jews

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

9. I reposted it in GDP
Some people don't do multiple forums, and I felt it was important.
