1. I thought Eisenhower, JFK and LBJ brought us the Vietnam War....
A friend I know who was an officer in the Marine Corps 1950-1972 said the Marines went into Vietnam kicking and screaming.

They knew it was a losing prospect.

2. Lots of controversy about Bell and LBJ.

If I remember right, LBJ owned a chunk of Bell, and their helicopter sales were in the billions for our Vietnam adventure.

6. Actually JFK was about to pull the plug on the whole Vietnam issue

When Galbraith died a while ago this story got some airtime that it had never received before, at least here on DU and the internets (none on the MSM of course). I didn't even know about it, *sigh* yet another fake story the RW planted all those years ago that stuck.

I'd bet 2% of the people in this country will ever know about this.

3. It's nice that they have so much money that they
can sponsor a bowl game. Too bad they couldn't oh say, help out our troops or returning vets. I read a post on here last week stating that the VA needed personal items for returning troops, everything from razors to personal items and clothing. Why don't these companies that have made their millions and billions upon the backs of fighting, injured, or killed, soldiers return a little to the soldiers? This is an insult. I could possibly see if we were not at war, but we have troops giving all right now. Plus what are they hoping to gail from sponsoring a bowl game? Do they hope that when we, citizens, need to buy a helicopter that we will buy Bell. I know that Chik-Fil-A sponsors a bowl so that we will Eat Mor Chikin, it makes sense. Shame Shame Shame.

5. If you love America
you will make Bell your sole helicopter source.

Psssst a foreign company was awarded the contract to make the new Marine One.

Aside from the legroom, the copter will incorporate major upgrades to the old defense and communications systems. Equally important is that the aircraft is flight-proven—the $110-million bird is derived from a European-built AgustaWestland EH101, currently doing military service for Canada and the U.K.

10. It's still infuriating.
That costs a lot of money. Why would they waste the money on marketing like that when they could put it into R&D or into keeping our kids safe?
