Gays on Strike? I simply cannot WAIT for this one!!!
"Wedding Wars" an A&E is about the best birthday present I could have gotten this month.

As an ex-US Navy Hospital Corpsman, I was fully aware that the Gay population for both officers and enlisted personnel runs about 25% at the least. Shit, MOST of my friends in the Navy were gay. In fact, I found out that the reason some Navy women didn't take me seriously when I attempted to date them was that they just ASSUMED that since I was in the Navy and a Corpsman (and wasn't a drunk or druggie) that I was gay.

It is long past time that the Gay community rallied around the one thing they have in common (homosexuality and being descriminated against because of it) and pulled a modified "LYSISTRATA" with a strike against the rest of the country.

Shit. Stats say the average Homosexual (Male OR Female) in this country has a College Degree, a good upscale job and a damned good income. I think they are far past due for putting the screws to the rest of us for equal rights and DAMNED to the "Log Cabiner's" who just want the rePukes to accept them as fellow travelers.

2. A lot of churches would go silent on Sunday
All those musicians, soloists and choir directors sitting out a Sunday would quiet a lot of churches. Heck, our congregation would lose its pastor, substitute musician, several regular attenders, and if their straight supporters decided to join the strike, we might as well lock the doors, because nobody would be there.

5. the "day without art" movement is effective
which is not to say it is enough.

I was at a local art gallery this weekend and one picture was covered in black cloth with a note about AIDS day. I realized I hadn't paid enough attention to the day and donated some money.

It was actually a very sobering and effective statement.

And, for an earlier comment, yes, many straight supports would "go out with you".

8. And heterosexuals can help by boycotting "marriage" until everyone can participate.
