Prince of Wales recruits Gore for 'green' campaign
Theirs is an unlikely alliance: the heir to the throne, the leader of the Church of England and the man who so nearly got the most powerful job in the world.

But the Prince of Wales, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Al Gore will this week launch a new project to encourage big business to become more "green".

Prince Charles is said by aides to be "totally committed" to the scheme in which companies will be urged to assess – and reverse – the damage they are doing to the environment.

The Sunday Telegraph can also reveal that Prince Charles recently held a private meeting at Highgrove, his country home, with Mr Gore, the former presidential candidate, to discuss their shared passion for saving the environment.

1. Al Gore is looking very statesmanlike
Both he and Prince Charles are doing the best they can with the hands they were dealt, and the world will be the better for it if they succeed. In Charles' case, it's unlikely he'll ever be king -- it's got to be creepy waiting around for your mother to die so you can get her job. However, he's been interested in the environment for decades.

2. How odd. World leaders seek him out. They look to him for advice. It's like they
respect him or something. Almost like he's an important U.S. leader. Wouldn't it be something if the world looked to the United States for leadership in saving the planet because an intelligent, thoughtful patriot was at the helm? Why, we might even become respected again. We could unite disparate cultures, seek common ground and confront global issues that threaten our existence....NAAAAAAAAH
