Al Gore is too fat to run for president--(Just heard on MSNBC)
Previews of attacks to come.

Need a smart experienced president? forget it if he is chubby or wears the wrong colors or sighs with frustration at other's stupidity. That sort of unacceptable behavior overrules all your qualifications. According to the Great Supplier of Excellent Presidents, the Republicans.

AAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!

Gore's too fat, Kerry dropped a pronoun - automatically disqualifies one to run for president to the most shallow news corps in US history.

Their guys aren't all skinny. McCain's face is fat--Gore looks way thinner these days.

Oh, that's right--they're the schoolyard bully who can make up any crazy rule he wants to and enforce it in dirty, nasty ways. I forgot. :eyes:

15. No, no. Womanizing Newt. Seventy-year-old McCain.
Never play by their rules. If they insult weight, attack somewhere else. Newt can't resist other men's wives. McCain is so old we'll need an alzheimer's test to run him. Keep them on the defensive for their own team.

Al Gore has been busy alerting the world to global warming. (Look over at the commentator) You have been busy with the gym and fad diets. I'll take Al Gore.

And the media is only doing it now because they think he is pedantic enough to see it and then say," I'll show them, I'll lose weight and run!" ANYTHING to divert people off the message he is delivering now. The media ONLY wants their Hillary/Gore slapdown (and I suspect even some here and on other forums want it as well.) That is all they want, and frankly, I'm sick of that and the unsubstantiated speculation about him now that is more than likely fueling this instead of discussing the climate crisis. It's BS, and I will repeat, I hope he stays out of all of this. And I would still like to know who said it.

But check the 92-onward articles on her clothing and hairstyles, not to mention her use of her maiden name. How many "Is Hillary a Bitch?" articles to you need? At this point, they've burned themselves out on her.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if they started up again during the primaries.

Al may get an Oscar. If there's one thing people in Hollywood know how to do it's lose weight. I'm sure a determined guy like Al wouldn't have problems shedding a few if he felt he needed to.

On a serious note, "to fat to run for president" might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, especially since it's not like he's not any more than perhaps a little chubby. Which jackass said that?

it will piss off every man (and woman) in America who has a few extra pounds around the middle. Gore needs to be seen as less of an insider and more of ordinary guy - attacking him in this way ought to take care of that problem.

Also, Gore has some good writers that can build on this new image.

58. On Ed Schultz show last night, I heard a caller try to claim that
we needed someone (apparently, not a Dem, because the caller was talking about Iowa's Governor) with DC experience and insider knowledge, instead of a (implied "Southern") Governor ... Ed pointed out that "Governors" had a pretty good track record in getting into the presidency (usually a RW talking point when a Dem senator is brought up) ...

Of course, the caller probably thought that just being a "governor" was good enough in 2000, and NOT a person who had the inside scoop of DC, like Gore did ...
