Helen talks about the Chimp admin., journalism today, neo-cons, Iraq, 2008 elections, minimum wage, JFK. Least favorite president = anyone who abuses power (she wouldn't name him).

One of our local news anchors, Suzanne Geha, is Helen's niece so this is a casual conversation. Suzanne must have spent Thanksgiving with her and brought back this video:

Helen Thomas' interview with her niece, Suzanne Geha of Grand Rapids MI's WoodTV, is amazing! She spares no punches: Bush's administration is the "most secretive;" she is clearly appalled at the thought that the US engaged in that oxymoron, "preemptive war;" Iraq is a "debacle." Asked how she thought we would get out, she reflected for a moment on Vietnam: "We left by our fingertips," and now thinks we'll "cakewalk out." Watching this interview will leave you wanting more of it!
