As if ANYBODY will believe this shit coming out of Smirky Boy's mouth. Wind and solar power? Right. If there's anybody left who doesn't believe little George is a LIAR, they will know it tonight.

Bush Aims to Push Policy Agenda in Address

By TERENCE HUNT
The Associated Press
Tuesday, January 31, 2006; 4:20 PM

WASHINGTON -- Hampered by huge budget deficits and an unpopular war, President Bush will seek to take charge of the election-year agenda Tuesday with a State of the Union address focusing on soaring energy and health care costs and America's leadership in the world.

Bush's prime-time address to joint session of Congress is billed by the White House as a message of optimism and a prescription for strengthening the nation's competitiveness in a global economy, in part by emphasizing math and science education.

With oil prices inching toward $70 a barrel, Bush is to say the nation must reduce its dependence on foreign suppliers _ a goal often stated over the decades but never realized _ and push for development of alternative fuels such as hydrogen and ethanol, wind and solar power, as well as build new nuclear power plants.

Three years from leaving office, Bush goes before the nation as a politically weakened president after the toughest year of his administration. With Americans anxious about the economy, weary of the three-year-old Iraq war and unhappy about the administration's stumbling response to Hurricane Katrina, Bush's job approval rating was in the anemic high 30s to low 40s.

A majority of Americans fault him on his handling of Iraq, the economy, the budget deficit, immigration, ethics in government, health care and taxes. A Medicare prescription drug program for the elderly, once seen as a boon for Republicans, has left seniors confused and angry.

1. No kidding
Sounds like he's going to dig up all his old 2000 election nuggets. Who would believe or be interested in this crap. He's going to stress science and math education. Yeah this from the guy that doesn't see the problem teaching intelligent design.

2. If it wasn't so tragic, it WOULD be funny. But...
with the do-nothing Dems obediently sitting there while Junior spews his shit, it is more than I can stomach.

Even worse, the Vichy-Dem who is my US Rep. (Schwartz in PA) has emailed her constituents encouraging them (us) to watch. She says,

"Tonight President Bush will deliver the State of the Union address to the nation. In his speech, President Bush will discuss his agenda for the coming year. The State of the Union is a chance to hear President Bush's ideas on health care, energy, and the war in Iraq and to discuss those ideas with family and friends.

Regardless of party or ideology, this is an important speech for all Americans to watch. If you are a parent, I especially encourage you to watch the speech with your children. This is a good opportunity to educate your children on our nation's democracy and to talk to them about major issues affecting our nation."

Telling us to expose our children to this!!!!!! If that isn't child abuse, I do not know what is.

As someone who has been fighting this shit since Nixon, I just can't take it. I see very little hope for democracy in the US unless more people get upset enough to get rid of the pukes, permanently.

3. Perhaps he ought to have a group prayer for a big terrorist attack
jr has done everything else possible to encourage one, maybe a direct appeal to Jesus would help.

4. Lots of wind from this speech to power the nation through the century.
What I would give to see a Dem (thinking Kennedy) raise his leg and supply Boo$h with some wind during that portion.

6. Does he even know what alternative fuels ARE??

It's going to be hard to convince people of this if they've been paying attention to the fact that he is against increasing taxes on the oil companies, even in light of Exxon's obscene profits. He never ceases to amaze me.

7. Face it he is going to say what the people want him to say,
Bush will say anything then do as he likes. I frankly think the Queen is better at opening Parliament than King is in opening up Congress. What hog wash these things have turned out to be. And my guess the polls will go up. People will want to believe him.
