Keith Olbermann just covered the peace sign Christmas wreath story.
Just now in Newsmakers. Did a really good job with it, though I think it should have been in the Worst Person in the World segment.

I'm comemorating the story in my sig line BTW.

2. What do the "Christians" who have objected to the wreath
call Jesus, the Price of War?

5. Why do you assume the complaints came from Christians?

Did a church organize a campaign against the peace sign wreath?

If a church did organize such a campaign, why blame ALL Christians?

This anti-Christian attitude expressed by so many on the left is going to hurt the left, not Christianity.

6. unless us christians on the left own what has happened to our religion
Edited on Mon Nov-27-06 09:21 PM by seabeyond
and take it back. i am a christian. i have a silver peace sign necklace on my rearview mirror where most all in this area have a cross. i have had dirty looks fro people and a few comments. i challenge them to tell me the difference between my peace sign and the cross both equally representing cross.

why are the christians not understanding and compassionate to those that are angry at the cult mentality of christianity that has swept our nation in hate and are not equally angry and fighting against it

and in answer to your question i understand it is people saying it represents anti war... i havent heard that it is a christian effort. could be. and maybe not

7. It's not an assumption
The person who demanded the wreath be taken down stated (falsely) that it is a satanic symbol.

Who polices so-called "satanic symbols" better than so-called "Christians"?

11. The person who complained is undoubtedly rightwing but

not necessarily at all religious and certainly not representative of all Christians.

The right has been using that "peace sign is a satanic symbol" meme since the 1960s. But they also claim it's "communist." They'll say anything to avoid admitting it's a peace symbol, derived from the original nuclear disarmament symbol.

12. you're right and it looks like that's why posters are using "" and "so called" "Christians"

8. cause "Christians" are cry babies
The fundy element of your religion is hurting Christianity.

Once normal Christians take back their religion from the extremists you will see the "anti-Christian" mentality (as you call it) fall off a bit.

10. How do you suggest we take back Christianity?

Kill off all the fundys? That would hardly be liberal or Christian.

We normal Christians have no more control over Christian extremists than normal Muslims do over Muslim extremists.

Do you call Muslims "crybabies" when they protest that their religion is not about hatred?

15. If you notice,
the word "Christians" was in quotations. Satire about those people who call themselves followers of Christ and yet don't seem to get the teachings of Christ. Not in any way talking about Christianity in general. Sorry it wasn't clearer to you.

17. His worst person in the world was even worse
I bet that woman is getting phone calls right and left today. She's the head of some science teacher's association or something who turned down free DVDs of Gore's movie because it might upset ExxonMobil, who donate millions to her organization.
