Again and again the conservative talking heads repeat their message, like a mantra: "When is the media going to stop being so PC? It ain't just about a wave of extremists, the religion itself is evil! Evil, I tells ya! The Koran is all about hate and violence! Muslims and Arabs are all killers! When is our society going to wake up, and...and...."
And that's usually where the argument stops, oddly enough. Have you noticed?
They always seem on the verge of saying something else, but then quickly hush up and blame it all on the liberals. But in their heart of hearts, you just KNOW they're dying to say something like: "We should make Christianity mandatory in this country!" or "Why don't we Just nuke the Middle East, every last man, women and child!" or even "Let's round up all the Muslims we find and put them into forced labor camps!" But they don't quite say these things, at least in the mainstream--'cause at the point the argument exceeds the limits of trendy political incorrectness and becomes outright facism, and even they are aware of how awful it sounds. But I really do believe people who make such open-ended statements in newspapers and interviews would like one or all of these things to happen. Of course, if we're talking about Abu Gharib or the Fred Phelps clan, these same people trot out their best "Don't judge the entire bushel by a few rotten apples" speech. But when it comes to Muslims, "they're all evil! All of them! Even the women and children and unborn fetuses! Something must be done!!!" Yeah, something!
And that something is?..."Oh, well I can't talk about THAT!" The PC police would jump all over me!" Wrong. What you REALLY fear is that people would hear what you really think, and they'd turn their backs on you rather than "Sig Heil" the Final Solution so many conservatives secretly wish would happen. Or at least I hope they would turn their backs. If "round 'em all up" ever becomes a mainstream talking point in our society, it's all over for America. Prove me wrong!
