2. "their one shot might be if we sat this one out."
Hmmmm . . . maybe to make that happen, right-wing think tanks hire trolls to go on Democratic discussion forums, posing as Dems, and disrupting any positive or pro-Dem threads.
3. The Last Thing we need at this point in time: a Constitutional Convention
The last time one was convened, it was for the sole purpose of amending the Articles of Confederation. As soon as they got rolling, they chucked the Articles out the window and started over.
In a new Convention much of what we currently hold as basic could go right out the window as well.
We're having enough problems just keeping the Constitution we have with this crowd; that's sufficient battle for now. I would :scared: to think of trying to battle over every inch of it in a national free-for-all.
4. I'm in complete agreement but we should be ready for the concon
I've read some dated articles in LexisNexis while researching another topic that Repubs have a standing committe that discusses what their strategy and proposals would be in the event that a concon is convened. If memory serves me correctly, we're only a few state short of a concon. Dems would be wise to start thinking about our own strategies and proposals. I'd hate to approach something as uplifting as a concon without some sort of playbook.
