Even fruitcake could slow you down at the Airport..BANG

SEATTLE (AP) - Lines started forming early today at Sea-Tac Airport for its busiest day of the year.

The airport expects 120,000 travelers to pass through the gates -- coming and going -- on their way to Thanksgiving.

The Transportation Security Administration has extra staff to screen departing passengers and lines were moving steadily Thursday morning.

Airport spokesman Bob Parker Bob Parker says most people have gotten the word about limiting carry-on liquids to three-ounce containers in a one-quart bag. Security screeners also say no fruit cakes. The cakes are dense and the machines can mistake them for explosives.

11. On behalf of my fellow nuts and our allies, the fruits, I'm outraged.
We should assemble the Jimmy Buffett Fruitcake Brigade and pelt SeaTac with edibles. :silly:

10. Sulfur dioxide just like mom used to add.
The calcium propionate is what makes it fancy.

13. I would have DEFINITELY kept my great-grandma's off a plane
Granny Pucci made this rather sublime fruitcake. The thing had so much fruit in it you had a hard time finding the cake, and its five-year rest in Havana Club rum gave it the most unbelievable bouquet of flavor.

Unfortunately, the cake also had a density only slightly higher than that of uranium making it fully capable of taking out a cockpit door if thrown hard enough, and there was so much alcohol in it you could have started an airplane with just the fumes.

Oh, and Granny Pucci only got thrown in jail twice for making these during Prohibition. I don't think they were trying hard enough. (Family lore has it that Granny Pucci got thrown in jail thirty times during Prohibition.)

If this was a retail product, it would be labeled with a Statement of Hazards to Humans and Other Domesticated Livestock right between the Nutrition Facts and the Statement of Ingredients.
