I just have one simple question about the Iraq war commission
Bush Sr.,Jim Baker knew way back when like in 2003 that the Iraq war was a big mistake. So why, since it is obvious that Jim Baker and Bush Sr have a big influence with other Republicans, that they stood by and allowed this war to continue..They knew from foreign policy experience where this war would lead. There were hundreds of failures, billions of dollars spent and just as many lies told.So why did they wait until now to harness Junior and force him to change his policy. Why did they wait until we lost over 2800 young men and women before they came forward and said look Junior you are wrong?

1. They WANTED chaos in Iraq.,...
They are making fortunes. What they are attempting to protect now is their cash cow, the Republican Party.

2. I think they didn't want to make it hard on Junior

george W Bush is the President of this country not GHWB
Juniors agenda was such a radical deprture from his father's that they didn't want to be seen as interfering. George HW Bush had the good sense not to invade Iraq further than they needed to kick the Iraqis out of Kuwait.
I didn't understand that decision at the time but now see it as the smartest thing GHWB ever did. He, Schwartzkopf and Powell knew what was gong to happen if they did --remember Powell's line about the Pottery Barn rule?
I remember the buzz at the time about GHWB counseling Junior not to do it, his aides also, and junior proceeding right ahead with his own (Cheney's) agenda. The arrogance here is spectacular. NOt only did Junior and Cheney shove all of Clinton's good advice aside, they ignored Dad's advice as well.
And now we're in a disaaster, the magnitude of which is earthshaking.
Junior can't say he wasn't warned against it by people in the know--even his own Sec of State, Powell advised against it (the only combat vet in the Cabinet) But they went ahead with it anyway, even fabricating and/or cherrypicking the evidence to get in.
This is George W Bush's War, first last and only. he shoved aside all good advice and recklessly plunged the American People into another no-win, endless war.
Impeachment is too good for the smug, arrogant, know-it-all,sonofabitch, he should be draggged out into the street and have his ass kicked all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue

4. Well then all this shows is that Snow's comment about the death toll
as being just a number is really how this administration views the death toll.
