Bush re-resubmits judicial nominees deemed to be too extreme (More Bush 'bipartisanship')
Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 03:43 PM by ck4829
The Bush administration, trying to push through judicial nominations before Republicans lose control of the Senate, resubmitted six nominees deemed by Democrats too conservative for the federal bench.

Five nominees were the subject of an angry exchange in August when Democrats said their selection was a sop to the president's conservative base.

The White House on Wednesday submitted Terrence Boyle of North Carolina and William James Haynes II of Virginia to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Va.; Michael Brunson Wallace of Mississippi to the 5th Circuit in New Orleans; Peter Keisler of Maryland to the District of Columbia Circuit; and William Gerry Myers III and Norman Randy Smith, both of Idaho, for the 9th Circuit in San Francisco.

Everyone except Keisler has generated intense opposition from Democrats.

2. So what does this kind of bush** behavior make of the story
that KKKarl is leaving in a few weeks because bush** says he's too devisive and makes it look like he doesn't intend to act in a 'bipartisan' manner?

3. The 9th is the last bastion of sane judgment left
at the circuit level. we must stop this madman from stacking the deck in these last few weeks of power.

Bi-partisan my ass. Let's make them go nuclear in the Senate. If they DO, then we tell them that in the next session, we will use that as well... and they can forget about doing anything. Georgie will simply have to veto every piece of legislation that is sent to him.

Remember the government shutdown?

We will attach every liberal piece of legislation we ever thought of to federal funding bills (using the nuke option to ram it through the Senate). So Bush will be stuck... either he signs it and people get their SS checks and government offices remain open OR he vetos it... and HE shuts the government down.

Whoever blinks first loses, so we got to win this stare down.

4. The nominations aren't going anywhere
Besides, the Democrats can filibuster and dare Frist to invoke the so-called nuclear option. C'mon Bill; you know you want to. Think of the filibuster as mewling little kitten from the animal shelter. All cute and furry, just begging to be split open by your scalpel.

These insane mofos are one more disappointment from popping.
