I guess they could try, but it's never happening.

"The Nevada town of Pahrump is taking a stand not just against illegal immigrants but flags they may bring with them," USA TODAY's William M. Welch writes this morning on the front page.

i thought we were a nation of immigrants and thats why we are so friggin' sweet. This just makes me want to drag out a lithuanian flag and tape it to the top of my car.

Nor in the U.P. of Michigan.

However, there's not too many dark skins in those places.
Mostly Swedes and Finns.

7. Sisu!!
My father was Norse. My mother was Finn.
What a war that was all the time. ;-)

My father would recite, "Ten thousand Swedes marched through the weeds to lick one sick Norwegian."

My mother would respond, "A dumb Finn is the same thing as a smart Norwegian."

Fun stuff.

9. Ja, vi elsker dette Landet..
We are so Norse here in NE IA we memorized the Norwegian national anthem since various members of the Norwegian royal house show up on campus and visit the town also (Vesterheim Museum).

5. Read up on flag law
International usage forbids the flag of one nation to be flown above another--they must be on staffs of the same height. So basically, the law they're proposing is unnecessary.

Scroll down to read Section 3g:
http://www.wi.net/flag.html

I'm proud of my Irish heritage, but there's no way in hell I'd fly the Irish flag above or instead of the American flag. I'm Irish-American...Irish is the adjective, American is the noun. I'm American, first, foremost, and forever.

10. You are correct., this law is redundant.
It is illegal to fly the flag of a foreign country by itself on any nation's soil -- the home flag must also be flown (on its own flagpole, and two national or state/provincial flags may never be flown on the same pole/staff) and given the place of precedence, which is usually deemed to be on the left as seen from the principal point of view. The two flags must be the same size. The only exception is that an embassy may fly its own flag alone, the embassy grounds/buildings being deemed to be that country's own soil. Ditto a visting dignitary's car flag, and at the United Nations or its agencies, where several national flags are displayed, the the custom then being to line the flags up in alphabetical order by the country's official name, each on its own staff and all the same size and height. If I remember right, at the Olympic Games the custom is to give the host country's flag precedence, the others being lined up alphabetically.

I don't think this applies to small hand-held flags at an event such as a St Patrick's Day parade or a small flag embroidered on your backpack, or painting your face with the colours of your home team at international sporting events. I don't think it does, or if it does nobody bothers enforcing it.

6. i'll take this illegal flag notion with a grain of salt,
how about getting white Southerners to stop flying the treasonous Rebel Battle Flag everywhere first? Jeez, when I lived in Mississippi the fuckers even waved that damned racist thing around on the fourth of July, ABOVE the American flag. Fuckwad Pahrumpians.
