He's right below Rep. Hoyer in the chain of command, and if I remember correctly, would be the first African America House Majority Leader in American history.

He's a progressive, he's anti-war, yet he also endorsed Joementum. It would be an olive branch to Lieberman, and at the same time would settle this dispute.

He has a wonderful history in Civil Rights. Of course I don't know if he wants the responsibility. However, he's up there already as the Senior Chief Deputy Whip, so he's already got a lot of responsibility.
