2. OMG. So ignorant, so blind.
"Third, it is clear that both the majority of my constituents and the majority of the American people are in favor of Judge Alito's confirmation.

"Fourth, Judge Alito has testified, under oath, that he brings no ideological agenda to the Court.

"Fifth, Judge Alito looked me in the eye and told me that he will not conduct himself based on an ideological agenda. He promised me that he would judge each case based on its merits and protect and defend the liberties set out in the Constitution.

The majority of Americans clearly do not support Alito!!

5. I called his office and asked if he had changed his mind
His staffer, with a very sweet voice, said no he had not. And I responded by saying that he was turning his back on what the Democratic party stands for, that he was fracturing our position against Alito, that most Americans do not want Alito on the bench. I also said, "I better just leave it at that because I don't want to get ugly and ruin your day." She kind of laughed, very nicely, and said, "Well, thank you."

When I hung up the phone I was spitting nails, though.

11. *sigh* You know, there has to come a time when these
red state Dems just have to stand up, grow some balls and do the RIGHT THING. Their country should come FIRST. The CONSTITUTION is much more important than his reelection. Where are their PRINCIPLES?:(

13. Just a question,....
What other things has this "jerk" done. I am not trying to offend, however I am curious as to what other things you are aware of that make him a "jerk" or give you the impression that he is ignorant to the issues?
Please, what other issues justify the label "jerk"

I want so bad for there to be an alternative to the rebublican Juggernaut, marching it's way across history. But I have noticed a very real, and very troubling tendency on DU, to attack anybody, other DU members, even the precious few Dems in power.

So I am asking in the most non-confrontational manner as can be expressed on a computer screen. What do you know about him, because if just ONE PERSON, reads you say he is a "jerk", or that he "crawled out from under a rock", and believes that,........ aren't you directly helping the republican party?

3. Another example of a Dem in a red state afraid of losing his/her
job as far as I'm concerned.

15. He's lost my support
And he's damn lucky that Hoeven decided not to run against him, or he'd be a goner.
I'd support a primary challenger against him. I certainly won't be campaigning for him this time around.
