Have been in uniform since 2002. My recruiter didn't lie to me about a single thing.
Maybe I was just lucky? And no, I've not yet been sent to Iraq. Yet. A lot of recruiters already have, though. If they have a CIB or CAB on their breast, chances are they earned it in Afghanistan or Iraq.
Honestly, I think we need to leave recruiters alone. I've seen how tough their jobs are. And while some are indeed akin to used car salesmen, most are just trying to get through the work day and keep their families fed, like all of us. They do so under tremendous pressure and in a very hostile atmosphere.
How many people here realize that you can be PICKED to be a recruiter? Like being a Drill Sergeant, it's not always your choice. Not in the Army anyway. They send you orders, you salute and go.
Let's focus our anger and rage where it belongs, please? ON WASHINGTON D.C. It's not the recruiters' fault that Iraq sucks.
