Roses for Pelosi!
I believe that a large part of the credit for the stunning Democratic victory yesterday goes to Nancy Pelosi for her marvelous leadership over the past 2+ years. I was not a "fan" of Representative Pelosi's when she became House minority leader, but she won me over. She has been nothing short of FABULOUS! Clearly, Howard Dean and his 50-state strategy also deserve a great deal of credit, too, but without the incredible discipline that Pelosi has enforced and the way that she has led the party, I doubt that yesterday would have been possible. Given all that Nancy Pelosi has done and the fact that she is about to make history as the first-ever female Speaker of the House, I think that it would be wonderful to bombard her office with roses on Veterans Day (Friday). We did this for Barbara Boxer, and I think that Speaker-To-Be Nancy Pelosi has done every bit as much to earn this recognition as Senator Boxer did! Are you guys with me? Her office addresses are:

District Office:

2. I like Pelosi just fine
but I'd much rather see roses sent to Michael J. Fox, or Dean for that matter.

3. I don't disagree...
with your sentiment concerning Howard Dean, but roses do not seem quite appropriate for a man. With Michael J. Fox, his efforts were entirely on the side of stem cell research. Although I agree with Michael J. Fox on this issue, his interest was nonpartisan in nature as he campaigned for Arlen Specter two years ago, too.

I just think that Nancy Pelosi has really been great--particularly during this campaign. Plenty of people questioned the exposure that she opened herself up to by going around the country campaigning for candidates, and especially by doing the segment on 60 Minutes. I saw that segment, and the only thing that I could think was that someone had to be a complete bone-headed jerk to actually dislike this woman because of her political views because she seems like a very decent person with a great deal of integrity! She could teach a lot of those so-called "family values" conservatives a thing or two about REAL family values! After all, this woman has actually lived it by being married to the same man all these years and raising five children and even being a grandmother!

4. Perhaps a pair of steel "knucks" might be more appropriate?
:)
