When will VA be called?

This is from Yahoo news. Is the 8,000 votes close enough for a recount? My brain is too mushy to do math right now.

2. I think you need more like 11,000-12,000 to be recount-proof.
I'm thinking there'll definitely be a recount, but also that Webb has it in the bag.

Fingers crossed.

3. Is there enough for a recount?
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:21 AM by insane_cratic_gal
I think if we did, we'd win it hands down, so I am not worried about that ... btw Allen is an idiot! how the hell did he end up there anyway and with that close of a margin?

4. Recount nearly certain.
I would make a market of 99% at 99.5% for my bid offer in favor of a recount.

5. I heard that any recount would have to wait til after Nov 26,
when the state will certify Jim Webb as the winner. Since Webb declared victory on Election night, Allen and the entire Republican party are going to look like real crybabies IMO when they launch a desperate attempt to invalidate more than 7,000 Webb votes.

IMO, the media focus on the Virginia Senate race offers Dems the opportunity to expose the flaws in the "Help America Vote Act", for repair as soon as possible during the 110th Congress. Robocalls threatening voters with arbitrary arrest if they show up at the polls, misdirection of voters to wrong precinct addresses, intimidation by R "poll watchers", etc could be exposed worldwide in the spotlight Webb and Dean will have for at least the rest of the month.

more than 1% of the votes cast, which would be somewhere around 24,000.

7. In about a month or so
However, I don't think Felix can make up +7,000 votes in the recount... and there will be one. I just hope the margin is over .5, so HE has to pay for it!

The recount will mainly be a formality.
