DECLARE VICTORY IN THE SENATE NOW
Democrats need to come out first this morning and declare VICTORY in the Senate. Don't let there be any speculation that it is NOT.

That's what the GOP did in 2000; they declared victory in Florida and Gore's challenge was presented as an attempt at theft.

It worked for them then. It will work for us now.

DECLARE THE SENATE YOURS THIS MORNING, DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP!!! Don't play nice waiting on a fair "recount."

DECLARE VICTORY NOW.

6. Of course we are not the GOP.
They stole Florida in 2000 and declared victory before there WAS a victory.

We are not stealing Virgina and Montana - we have leads; we are preempting THEM from stealing it by casting OUR lead in doubt.

3. I agree.
It looks like Tester's lead will hold up. And I think that when the votes are counted, we won Virginia.

I'd love to see Harry Reid declare victory today.

4. Hell, Yeah! Have nice public meetings to discuss the Demcratic Senate.
Sit around for the cameras and be smug about your theft...wait that was in 2000...I meant WIN!

5. Agreed...Declare victory....Condition the public to reject any attempted theft
Virginia and Montana are the ONLY TWO states where the exit polls don't match the election results...I smell a potential rat...We need to get out in front of this....Declare victory, and condition the public.

9. Exactly.
If they ARE stealing them, then frame it as such by casting the "inevitability" of a Democratic Senate while we have leads.

Don't let them steal it by casting it in doubt and then tying it up in the courts. Declare victory NOW while we have leads. Let them challenge a VICTORY.

14. Abso-freaking-lutely! That is how they sow doubt in people's minds by
claiming that the count isn't over when they are down and acting like they are the clear winners when they are up by a small margin. It's all about messaging, get out there NOW and claim victory.

15. Yep. Webb pretty much declared himself the victor.
And Allen just stumbled over some thank-yous.

Momentum will make a big difference.
