Six years. Six, incredibly long, hard years.
Well, it actually started back when the Big Dog was in the White House. Living in VA and coming from very blue CT, I was bombarded with statements like 'the Democrats are out of step with America', 'Americans want people with morals in power'.

Well, I guess it's finally true. Americans finally saw the light and decided that the lies that led us to Iraq and so many deaths were worse than getting blown in the Oval Office.

It's too bad so many had to die before they saw that light, but Thank God this country finally woke up.

1. I still remember when the election was called for Dear Leader.
I was filled with a dread, a coldness, a loathing that was deeply spiritual. I had never known this feeling before, and I have been in a few very tight and dangerous spots. I knew, I just simply KNEW what the future would hold. War was the big one. I knew there would be war as far as the eye could see. Economic ruin for many. Draconian laws.A complete, utter and very dark change from the preceding years. It was a desperate feeling.

A great weight was lifted last night.

I have never spoken of this before.

2. OMG. I felt exactly the same way.
When the SCOTUS essentially handed him the victory, I got an incredible chill down my spine.

I didn't believe any of his *Christian* stuff because I actually believe that I AM a Christian and he and I couldn't be further apart in views.

Funny how we had the same thought. I bet there are more of us here who felt that way. The dread, the despair. And, when Kerry lost? I cried for an entire day. All I could think about was my mom and my dad who had passed and how awful they would have felt.

But, boy I feel great today. I still have my Webb shirt on. I slept in it!
