Why don't they call MT and VA?
In MT, Tester has a lead that can not be defeated by the two remaining counties to report.

In VA, Webb has a lead that everyone concedes is undefeatable.

So, why don't these news agencies call it? The entire Congress is controlled by the Democrats - and the Republicans will demand recounts.

I'll tell you why. Because the media is bought and paid for. Anyone watching stupid Chris Matthews all night as he imploded, followed by Imus, can see that noone knows what to do. They had a fine set of regular guests and regular talking points, but now the party that DOESN'T play to the press has won.

Rove contacted both VA and MT - count on it. We don't know yet how they responded - maybe some responsible people ignored him. We'll see.

Lesson tonight - the media is not in the business of telling the truth. Otherwise, the banners would all already read, "Democrats capture entire Congress!"

3. Chris Matthews was a crybaby last night...
How many times can he bring up what a "sad" night it was for Santorum... :puke: I did like how Keith would take a "yeah, well..." and then talk right over him approach. :hi:

4. I'll give you the LEGAL answer
in Viriginia they are withing the legally mandated recount, and until the recount is done the election cannot be cerfitied. (I expect Webb to win)

And MT they had to zero five countires, for fraud or for valid reasons we don't know yet... but that is why

13. Yes, but both have ended in favor of Dems
My point is that so little is being said about the capture of the entire congress. It's as if no one knows what to say. It's easy - subject to a recount, the Dems have taken control. I think it would be welcome for news media to be more honest. I think they cower at the feet of Bush and Rove and Cheney. It's embarrassing.

17. and Schweitzer in MT is an ass whipping sort of guy
He has MT Repubs scared to death of him half the time, so I would think there will be no intimidation there.

19. I don't know
I just heard there's 500 illegible ballots in one county that the election board is going to look at this afternoon. I haven't gone to bed yet either, but it looks like Montana is going to drag out for a while. I wouldn't have thought there was enough votes out, until they did the Yellowstone recount and it got hard to track what was happening as the last bit of votes came in.

12. Rhode Island was called at 12:30AM
Long after everything else in the northeast, that's probably why it wasn't updated.

15. Why don't we wait until later today before we freak out, okay?
This isn't the first time, nor the last that there's been a holdup on a close senate race. It's only because it's important that you are noticing it.

18. Follow up: using info from MT SOS website, 2 counties remain uncounted.
Those two have a population combined of about 10,000. They usually favor Republicans. Even if we concede a 60-40 LOSS, that adds only 1000 votes to Burns - not enough to win. And that's if every living person voted!

The news keeps saying it's "absentees" but I think that's just their default so they don't have to explain the politics of meagher and beaverhead counties in MT. The site adds the numbers when they are available. They'll post the last two in a couple of hours.

21. The Beaverhead numbers came in last night......
with 100% of the Beaverhead precincts reporting the totals were: Burns 2,552 Tester 1,376 The other guy a couple hundred or so.

They can still be found at cnn or msnbc I think. Point is, 100% of Beaverhead did report last night and it was on the official sos website. Then the Yellowstone "accident" happened with the vote tabulator and when Yellowstones numbers were set to 0 on the official website so were Beaverheads and two other counties.

Beaverhead totals are in and were reported last night. Its just Meagher and the last 4% of Yellowstone at this point.

The totals showing 99% precints reporting and the total vote count as Tester 190,486 Burns 188,900 include the Beaverhead numbers that were reported last night.
