Dem Senators better have a GOOD reason for voting yes on cloture!
Most of the folks who have said they don't support a filabuster don't even have a good excuse. What the heck is THAT all about? If there are no political consequences to a filabuster, then why the heck are you opposing it? I suspect some of the so-called Dems who are opposing filabuster have made a secret deal with the 'pukes - the good ol' boys scratching each other's back.

IMO, if you're a Dem, you should act like one. I wouldn't be so angry with them if they had a good reason for opposing a filabuster!

1. Umm, there is NO good reason..
.. to vote yes on cloture.

The only, the only right thing to do is filibuster..

.. and if Frist tries the nuclear option, walk out
and shut down the government.

4. They don't need to walk out

There are plenty of parliamentary procedures they can use to grind the Senate to a halt.

But they have to have the courage to stand up NOW and filibuster.

Paul Hackett: It wasn't long until the Republican attack machine came after me demanding an apology. They called what I said "hate speech." The Republican Party was up to its old tricks again, using fear to silence opposition.

They expected me to back down like too many Democrats have in the past.

No more. The time to fight is now.

5. As I recall, Senator Tom Daschle supported numerous filibusters and
got unfairly labeled by the Repukes as an obstructionist. He no longer gets to vote on filibusters.

6. So GOP Special interest/RNC money chased Daschle because of filibusters?
Indian votes were reduced by intimidation - physically following and noting license plate number and following on road - all because of filibuster?

Lies about Daschle were told in Ads that ran on local media with no checking because of filibuster?

In any case "He no longer gets to vote on filibusters" is a cute punchline.

7. Because in reality it won't accomplish anything.
It will feel great for a few hours, but we have a lot to lose given they use the nuke option. I'm more worried about the longterm consequences since a fillibuster won't keep him out.
