Hi everyone!
I'm taking a break from my poll-running duties to let everyone know some good news. I parse my news with guarded optimism, because I'm working areas of my state/city (Iowa) that tend to trend Democratic.
In any case, I thought I would share some good news.
I pick up address cards from precincts that are ONLY from strong Democratic voters. I take these cards to a central office, and they are used to confirm who has voted. I also record the vote totals off of the machines--a few times daily. I tally the number of Dem votes, based on the number of cards I have--and compare it with the total vote count on the machine.
So far--in the two precincts--Dems have 76 percent and 56 percent of the vote totals. Keep in mind, that those Dem cards are pulled for LOYAL DEMS. If Republicans or Independents voted for the Dems--they don't have cards. So the 76 and 56 numbers, could be even higher, if an I or R voted for a Dem. Get it?
Also, voter turnout is extremely high. Very high. In my precinct--at 3:00, 30 percent of all registered voters had voted.
I know this is anecdotal information. It's also in Iowa and in a couple of precincts that tend to favor Dems. However, IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME NEWS!!!!!
I just thought I would take a minute or two to share some positive info!!! Now, it's back to the salt mines!!! Whooooo hooooo!
