Why Clinton Is Such A Great Spokesman For The Ds And Most Others Aren't
Easy: because Clinton IS Clinton and everyone else is trying to BE Clinton.

Unfortunately, while most D spokespeople may be able to imitate Clinton's hand gestures,
his timing or even his facial expressions, what can't be imitated is his razor-sharp ability
to think on his feet...and to think 10-20 sentences ahead of what he's currently saying.
Clinton is a man of cogent thoughts and multi-layered messages that are delivered in the simplest
of ways, through a combination of intellect, humor and humanity. No one on either side of the
aisle matches the Big Dawg in the gravitas and elation he brings to campaigning.

It's great to have him on the campaign trail.

1. Sometimes people don't recognize
how valuable a talent thinking on one's feet actually is. He can hit a curve ball out of the park and that's a skill we desperately need when dealing with the corporate media and the Repug spin doctors in their employ.

3. Not so good batting down the Clintons trashed the WH story that went on for months.
But then, it's hard to defend against something that is COMPLETELY FABRICATED and the team lying about you controls most broadcast media.

11. Sometimes the best responses just aren't allowed on TV...
Like simply shrugging and saying "Bullshit."

12. Yep - and when you do fight back, they spin it and call you inappropriate
or combative. Standing tough is only used to describe Republicans. This is our corporate media reality since 1997.

They could even IMPEACH the king of smoothtalk and lightning wit and reduce him to carefully crafted sentences like "what the meaning of is is" fer chrissakes.

If they can do it to Clinton, they can do it to ANY Democrat.

2. yeah...he's a great campaigner, no doubt.
But I prefer open government lawmakers. They turn me on more.

4. He frames things positively
rarely in a negative light. That is what is so refreshing with Bill. But you are right, highly intellectual.

5. Part of the problem is that many think they need to be Clinton to be a great
campaigner when they are much better being themselves. Clinton is a great campaigner because he is HIMSELF. Copying him makes no sense at all and consultants should understand that.

10. And I prefer people who are themselves and NOT Clinton. I for one don't want
to be schmoozed - I've had enough loveguys after me to last a lifetime. That's ten-foot-pole time for me.

Give me an honest man who believes in open government and the constitution - THAT is SEXY and SIZZLING to me.

7. Because he is real smart...
...he knows everything and he has the confidence of a one-time fat band kid who made it to the white house.

8. Clinton is one of a kind!
Remember when Bush was upset that McCain compared him to Bill Clinton during the presidential primaries in 2000? Well he was rightfully upset because it is no damn way that buffoon can be compared to Clinton. No way, no how.

13. He CAN say anything NOW - he already did his job supporting Bush 2001-5
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 06:40 AM by blm
and now it's his job to get back in the WH and cover up for Bush2 the way he covered up for Bush1.
