3. Guess we'll have to hope Lieberworm's position
Near the bottom of the ballot will make the Repukes in CT forget about it and just vote for Schlesinger

4. Ballot Positioning Is Worth A Percent Or Two...
I don't understand a moron who would wait on line to vote and then not who he's voting for and just pick the first name he sees.

8. Joe's expected win is nothing more than the wealthy neocons voting for him.
He is not going to be what they expect.

10. I'll wait until Tues. night.
He is counting on a lot of repug voters, who are used to pulling straight repug levers, to make an extra effort to pull his lever. The independents are the question and I think Ned may have an advantage if the indi'S swing is to the democratic levers. WE'LL SEE.

11. If the Dems take the Senate, and it's the slim margin
(51-49 or 50-50), then watch for Lieberman to be offered Rumsfeld's position ... and the Guv of CT appoint a Repuke to replace ...

13. Rumsfeld isn't going anywhere.
For Bush to let him go now would basically be an admission of defeat.

12. This is a non issue. Lieberman will caucus with the Dems
And then we can continue disliking him for another 6 years.

And as long as the House goes blue, I'll be happy with an even split in the senate. However, a late surge by Ford has put the upper house back into play, and Lieberman becomes marginalized.

16. I wouldn't be to sure of that.
Joe's already stabbed the Democrats in the back once by staying in this race when he LOST the primary (which should be illegal anyway, but that's a separate discussion) If this election comes down to 51-49 in the Senate, or a 50-50 tie, it would be just like Lieberman to flip the power back to the 'Pukes just out of spite, or to stick with the warmonger agenda.

If you're within driving distance of Connecticut today, do what you can for a Lamont victory, and avoid the whole question of what side Joe's really on.

18. for him to claim to be a Democrat is even more of a betrayal
Because of the way he talks, he undermines Democratic efforts to be an opposition party. He jumps on the BFEE bandwagon and then claims that all other Democrats are just being partisan. "See," he says, "the Bush administration is not bad for the country, his critics are just full of partisan hate."

Unless the balance is 50-49-1, I say let him caucus with the Republicans. Then he can get on TV and criticize THEM for being partisan on the issues of global warming and tax cuts.

But for God's sake voters of Connecticut, you did not vote for Bush in either election. Why would you vote for him now by re-electing his favorite Senator?

15. Maybe he can be Secretary of Finding Car Keys in the next Dem
administration in '09. Although, I'm not sure if they'd elect or appoint to fill the vacancy in CT.

19. If he wins it will be because of Republicans and right-leaning independents
"In this latest survey, Lieberman leads Lamont 79 - 3 percent among likely Republican voters, with 16 percent for Schlesinger, and 52 - 35 - 7 percent among independent voters, while likely Democratic voters back Lamont 66 - 27 percent."

Hey, Connecticut Republicans, it's too bad you are not voting your values or principles. You know Joe is pro choice don't you? Shame on you. Lamont should push THAT message. Joe is pro-choice. Schlesinger isn't.

A candidate in a specific party loses in the primary but switched to Independent to run in the senate race?

22. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Repubs need to sit this one out
Every vote matters and counts of course, but I really wish the repubs would stay out of this.

By voting for Lieberman, they are acknowledgeing that they are a 1 issue voter. And the issue they are agreeing with Joe on is the IRAQ WAR. And given that only 8% of America really believes we are on the right track in Iraq, that tells me this vote by the repubs is all about SPITE and REVENGE and has nothing to do with who they believe will be the best candidate. It's true manipulation of a political office.
