My friend had a sticker placed on her windshield yesterday
She still has a Kerry bumper sticker. The sticker adhered to her windshield advised her that bush had won the election and she needed to remove her Kerry sticker. It also said 'God Bless George Bush' and some crap about him keeping her safe from terrorism.

Well she was livid. Her car was parked in a shopping center parking lot and she drove immediately to the security office and reported this as vandalism. The security guard told her she was the 6th person that day alone who had come to his office to complain about one of these stickers on her car. He also said whoever was doing this had not filed a formal request with the shopping center, as required.

And it took her quite a while to remove it. It was GLUED to her windshield, not just placed under the wiper. The security guard told her that made it vandalism and the cameras in the lot had captured the culprits vandalizing several cars with these stickers. She got the impression that they were going to be able to find these people because they could see the tag number of their car on the camera.

Of course my friend agreed to press charges. :bounce:

I told her it had to be freepers. She also has a 'Talk To Cindy' bumper sticker and that one most likely caused their heads to explode.

You don't touch anybody's car. If liberals were doing this, I would be just as upset.

5. Funny how we still have DUers who advocate doing the same damn thing.
And, no matter how many times I explain to them that vandalism is NOT an appropriate method of expressing their political point of view, they still think it's just peachy to damage someone elese's property.

I sure hope they read this post.

23. Not the shopping center in my town, and I'm glad they don't.
All it would take is one scratch from someone's belt buckle while they were leaning across my car to put something under the wiper, and I'd have their ass.

Want me to look at something? Stand on the sidewalk and offer it to me as I walk by. If I don't want it, I'll be polite about turning you down. But get away from my damn car.

29. Wrong. They very rarely approve fliers on cars. It's littering.
It creates a major headache and I can't think of a single time it's been approved. And I once worked on the mall you speak of - albeit many, many years ago (think decades). Nonetheless, they never, ever approve putting fliers on cars. Most are ticketed for littering and/or trespassing.

Hi Proud!

11. not our style
While I will consistently endorse civil action, actions like vandalism are deplorable. Fools that pull stunts like the bumper-sticker on the wind-shield stunt only consolidate support. Support, that is, for the opposition. It's not only criminal but also a very poor strategy.

19. No. The DUers I was arguing with were advocating stickers.
Not sticking stuff under windshield wipers. They were also advocating stickers on gas-station pumps, which are also not their property, and windows of stores, which don't belong to them either.

I don't know what part of "keep your hands and stickers off other people's property" they dodn't understand, but they sure didn't get the concept.

39. Indeed. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to take a marker to
the W stickers and make them "W-TF" or W-idowmaker or somesuch.

Even though I've never had this happen to me (Bush sticker) I am also sick of the "get over it" bullshit that comes out of the freepers around here. I had a salesman say that in regard to my Kerry 08 sticker. What's to get over with a sticker that refers to 2008? What should I get over? Democracy?!

I can completely relate with her...my brother-in-law has about 6 totally Anti-Bush stickers on his car and when I go somewhere with him, we always get the dirtiest looks like we voted for Satan or something. The funniest thing is the looks seem to always come from people driving cars with Calvin bowing to the cross stickers and "Support Our Troops" ribbon magnets...if they only knew the truth...

Things have happened to people like this in the St. Louis area proud2blib. It mostly occurs in west St. Louis county, or St. Charles county where freepers are as numerous as maggots on road kill.

Raytown, Independence - those are more likely to be red than KC MO or KC KS (Ward Parkway is no where near KCKS, though; it's closer to a neighborhood called Waldo which is kinda seedy, but it was never that bad when I lived in KC!).

that your friend won't put up with that crap and wants to press charges. I (unfortunately) still see W stickers on cars. I admit, it WOULD make me happy to see one of these cars on the side of the road with a flat tire. However, I would never vandalize those cars. Also, I remember seeing a LOT of Bob Dole stickers LONG after the 96 election and I never thought of vandalizing those cars either.

Hope they catch the people who did that to your friends car.
