4. Why the hell would a military family vote Republican?
Do they want their sons and daughters to die?

5. Keep in mind, ONLY 1/3 of the military are republicans.
And even that 1/3 are getting huge doses of Fact and Reality shoved in their faces.

Our troops are nowhere near as stupid as bush & his neocon MFing cabal assume.

7. That's idiotic.
The only thing this gets them is a temporary stay of execution on the "GOP is hosed" stories and a possible slight uptick in base turnout in the south. Military families have nothing to do with it.

8. 101 troops died in Iraq in October. THAT should be what amps up their emotions...

And I mean not a scintilla of disrespect toward the military and their families. On the contrary, they are bearing an incredible burden, and deserve better.

Our soldiers in Iraq are now in an untenable situation -- babysitting an all-out civil war. The factions fighting one another have lived by the feud for hundreds of years, and they're not about to put down their weapons and embrace democracy.

There must be a ***PLAN*** to certify and redeploy, because the fighting (and the killing) is NOT going to stop.

9. Too Little Too Late
The fact that there are so many Iraqi war vets running as Democrats this year says that once monolithic support for the GOOP within the military has vanished.

Damn right it was meant to try to wedge the military from voting for Democrats...specifically Webb (who I think this slime was aimed at)...as their polling was probably showing him winning the vote in and around Virginia Beach which surely would doom Felix Allen to Macacville. It was also hoped to shake loose a few votes, maybe, in Missouri and any other race where there's a heavy consentration of military votes. Their polling must show this once solid voting bloc is either going off the reservation or staying home.

Now let's see how the Repugnicans tap dance around Bonner's remarkts and those of many others who have attemtped to wrap their own hypcrocies in an American flag. Of all those who feigned "moral outrage", how many voted against veterans benefits or sending body armor to the troops or any of a number of profiteering games. One thing that many Iraqi vets and their families know and feel is the arrogance and incompetence of the civilian leadership. John Kerry didn't change that. Only a vote next Tuesday will.

10. Fineman is always a bit off on everything
at least for the past couple of years. I used to really like to listen to him, but the last few years, he's is consistently out of step.

11. That anger is directed at Kerry and NOT the democratic party
I think the damage is small to our side and now the focus has shifted on Bush's performance in Iraq. We may come out ahead on this one.
