1. these are pre-trial hearings. The real show doesn't begin until

late January or early February, I believe. The witnesses are possible expert witnesses. He allegedly did a real slice 'n' dice on Libby's expert witness for memory; there was an article in the Washington Post about it last week.

2. The hearings right now are

over CIPA issues (whether or not classified documents are necessary to the trial,) and the questioning of the memory expert the other day was because Libby's people insist it's necessary, the prosecution says "no". The judge will decide whether or not she appears. Jury selection begins January 16th.
