I have the full 1.78meg photo and you can see it's clearly painted on. But there are others things that say fake, like leaf less trees. Damned deciduous trees!

If you view the full size photo it's blue paint. You can make out brush marks in the fullsize 1.78m file. I was lucky and saved a fullsized copy before the original site limited access.
