Lou Dobbs doesn't get it.
How can you get on CNN at this late time of the evening and not know by now that John Kerry was not directing his comments to the soldiers? Lous Dobbs doesn't get it. He says that Kerry's comment was arrogant and directed to the troops. His whole show is going to eviserate Kerry.

24. We should all blast Lou for pretending to believe this. You know damn well
he knows Kerry was talking about Bush and not the soldiers. Lou, I am ashamed of your taking the Republican party line on this.

11. Unbelievable stretch. First, Kerry isn't running for any position so
he's free to say anything he wants. Can you imagine the gift the media has given him? Let me try that again, HE'S NOT RUNNING FOR ANY OFFICE SO HE IS FREE TO SAY ANYTHING HE WANTS TO!!! HE CAN TAKE GEORGE BUSH HEAD ON RIGHT NOW. Oh, the possibilities... Thank you, media, for making him the news of the day!

underestimating the intelligence of the average serviceman and servicewoman. What more certain way to show their contempt for the troops than by their actions in relation to their welfare in Iraq and when they return?

They've made a lot of life-long Democrats out of youngsters who wouldn't normally concern themselves a lot with politics - some doubtless swallowing their propaganda whole, previously.

25. It appears to me that

the GOP media assault on Kerry is being brought about because Kerry's comments about students headed for Iraq if they fail hit a nerve. Kerry's comment is a not only a charge will we STAY in Iraq if the GOP retains power, but also a not too subtle hint at a DRAFT. The GOP media machine is launching a smear laden counter offensive at Kerry's statement because it brings the Iraq issue front and center: if we "stay the course," a draft will eventually be needed.

on edit: the Dems need to rise and stand behind Kerry and back up his statement with a discussion on Bush's war and where it is headed into the future.
