Trying to call other state's senators?
Getting hung up on because you're not a constituent?

Go here: http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/citytown.jsp
Enter the city/state of your choice.
Get yourself a local zip code.

Happy calling.

5. I haven't had a problem either
but someone posted that Landrieu's office hung up on them.

Worth knowing, just in case.

7. TRY FAXING, TOO!
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 06:08 PM by Autumn Colors
The fax lines are all open. I put in HUGE LETTERS "Please support a filibuster against Alito!!" (that takes up 2/3 of the page) and then in smaller letters, a quick paragraph about why this isn't simply another Supreme Court justice to be passed on through. Lastly, I took an idea someone else posted in the other thread about "I may be an out-of-state democrat, but I support candidates in other states financially and by traveling there, and I have also worked AGAINST candidates in other states as well. What I choose to do regarding your future re-election hinges on whether or not you support this filibuster." and then signed off with my name, address and phone number.

Here's a list of ALL of the fax numbers for the four senators Kerry's office mentioned needed some prodding - their DC fax as well as the faxes for all of their local offices:

These are all fax numbers (DC & Local offices)

Salazar:
202-228-5036
719-587-0098
970-241-8313
970-259-9789
719-542-7555
970-542-3088
970-224-2205
719-328-1129
303-455-8851

Landrieu:
202-224-9735
504-589-4023
318-676-3100
337-439-3762
225-389-0660

Johnson:
202-228-5765
605-226-2439
605-341-2207
605-332-2824

Byrd:

6. First thing out of your mouth "I am a campaign contributor to Senator X"
That'll keep you on the line.

I would advise everyone to be brief, concise and civil. FIRM is good, rude is not. JMO.

8. LOL.
Actually, it's the truth for most of us. I have never in my life had such a drain on my budget from political involvement. It's very costly to my meager income, but hey, as the Repubs like to say, Freedom isn't free.

11. Hey, if you have given anything to national Democratic efforts, you ARE a
campaign contributor. They dole that cash out to everyone, for the most part. The only difference is the amounts....

10. hahaahah
ok, I will clarify... I don't normally advocate lying, but if you call and try to state your views as "merely" a citizen of the United States and they hang up on you...

Call back and lie your ass off.

12. : ) I like your tactic. I just had my ass chewed and thread alerted on
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 06:11 PM by in_cog_ni_to
because I posted a link to Colorado cities and zip codes. I was chastised for not playing fair. We don't lie, cheat and steal like the repukes do.:eyes: *sigh* This is why we lose our battles. The repukes fight dirty, but we have to fight nice.:(
