DU Addicts' New Year's Resolution

No this isn't about cutting down on your screentime, or any of that new wave of hype about "Internet Addiction" that is getting a fresh breath of wind from hurting MSM financial interests looking to cut down on blogging.

It's just a way all you DU addicts could make DU a little better.

If I may suggest a possible, and very easy new year's DU resolution for DU addicts, why don't folks pick their favorite one of the many other topics forums and click that little blue link "Add to my forums". That will make the forum show up in the list at the top of the greatest/latest pages -- so it's always just one click away. Then promise to check in once per DU "session" to reccommend worthy threads in those groups, or just in general going about DUing what you DU so well there.

Why bother? Well, for two reasons: one benefits you, the other benefits everyone else that bothers to post in these smaller topic forums. First, since many of these forums churn very slowly, any post you make there will stay up longer. It's perfect for those occasions when you've got something to say that would benefit from long-term discussion. Second, being that we now need 5 votes to get to the greatest page, posts from these forums rarely make it there. That's a shame, because some of them are truly "greatest" material posted by a novice DUer that didn't know the big groups get almost all the traffic.

Was that persuasive enough? Check in if I convinced you to adopt a poor lonely DU topic forum. :-)

(Oh, and you might also want to do the same with the state forum for your state, to check up on local stuff of interest to DUers near you.)

6. Fine idea but you can't recommend topics from some forums--such

as the 9/11 forum. 9/11 topics posted in GD often DO get nominated for greatest and sometimes get 10, 15, 20 nominations and more before they are shunted off to the 9/11 or other dungeons where all the ":tinfoilhat: loonies" are kept.
