"Slapdown" connotes some process of outwitting or making an opponent look weaker and more foolish than usual. While Blitzer isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, Lynne is hardly giving him a "slapdown". But I'll grant you that she tried her level best.

The lady looked ridiculous.

I think she was drunk. If she wasn't wasn't, she was doing a good job of acting it.

She kept harping on Blitzer to talk about the book and then keep bringing up other subjects, like how the great the economy is doing and how the librul media doesn't support our troops in Iraq. And denying that she ever wrote a spicy novel. (I see on a another thread Blitzer is reading from it now; can he read that book on the air?)

8. Maybe it was just me, but Cheney sounded like he was having ..

problems with breathing. Maybe he was just too angry. I never listen to him speak, so maybe he sounds like that all the time, but he was surely breathless.
