1. It is an important step on the road to atonement

It doesn't eliminate the fact that had they come clean sooner on that key story that they held for a damn year, Monkey would have lost the election decisively, instead of being able to steal it in Ohio....but hey, it is a start. It doesn't obliterate the stain of Judy Miller...

2. I was trying also to remember if they had made Mrs. Alito's crying jag...

a big story in their pages. I think that was key to the whole discussion of this nomination.
