So a Democratic victory in November will be questioned because the "leftist" Hugo Chavez rigged the elections in the United States!!!

Okay. Let's get rid of all electronic voting machines then, and, make it so there is no private ownership of one of the most sacred rights in a so-called "democracy" - the vote.

also in case you didn't know, CITGO Gas stations are owned by Venezuela. Does that mean that Chavez has a secret plan to take over the fuel infrastructure in the United States?

Be afraid, be very afraid.

1. Classic Rovian counter-reality -- like what they did to Kerry
Edited on Sun Oct-29-06 07:47 AM by HamdenRice
It's the Democrats who are rigging elections ...

It was John Kerry who was the coward during Viet Nam ...

It was the Democrats who knew about Foley and protected him and covered up his sexual harassment ...

Rove's mantra is attack from your position of weakness.

Why didn't I see this coming before???

2. How Would You Like Your Irony?
It would serve the Republicans right if Chavez' minions DID somehow rig the electronic voting machines so Democrats win. Mind you, I'm no fan of Chavez. And I hate the idea of a stolen election, I want to win fair and square. I especially hate the idea of "owing" anything to Chavez.

But, oh, the sweet, delicious irony. Liberals have been voicing concern over these electronic voting machines for years, pointing out security flaws. And we've been dismissed as kooks, largely by Conswervatives.

Perhaps it will take a loss THEY feel is unfair to get the reform we need.

:bounce:

3. Good, let them run with this
If the Repugs start trouble over Sequoia software, that just makes it easier to bring similar cases against Diebold and the like. It'll open up the whole question of proprietary software running our elections, something the Repugs haven't wanted to acknowledge till now.

4. Yep, bring it on. Let's get ALL the fishy shit out in the open. Guess
what?? The GOP is going to be the target of an incredible # of voter fraud investigations, as they should have been for the past 6 years.

5. My first response was....
that figures! But I can't see them opening that can of worms. Would there be a way to erase all they have done in the past six years if we determine Gore won in 2000? Wow.

6. It will never work
I don't know ANYONE. . .and I live in a rabidly con-servative area, who is admitting this year that they are a Republican. No one is going to believe one word from that Party about someone else "stealing" an election. Too many people are fed up with having our country run into the ground.

7. Exactly the plan. And now I'll buy Citgo, too.

Now we see the long-range thinking of Rove. This now makes sense of previous name-calling and demonizing of Chavez.

8. My answer:
Fine. So that means we're all going back to paper ballots, right?
