From their website called "savewalmart.com":

The faith and love for God and His Word by Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart, is being trashed before our very eyes. God blessed Wal-Mart because Sam Walton applied biblical principles to run his business. He never failed to give King Jesus the glory.

The devil is forcing our schools, businesses, government, and churches to honor those things which are an abomination to God. Christians must take a stand! It’s time for our theology to become biography in the streets! It’s time for us to come out of the closet!

GOSPEL INFORMATION EXPLOSION!
NOVEMBER 24, 2006

Apparantly the RR is a little miffed because Walmart and the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) announced a partnership with Walmart on August 21, 2006, and Wal-Mart is now a corporate member of the NGLCC.

I may actually break my 7 year long boycott of Walmart because of this news, and a couple of the other things they just recently did. Well, maybe after they provide pensions, full benefits, and allow unions in their stores. And stop doing business with third world sweatshops. And stop drying up economies of small towns and then leaving.

Come to think of it, it still doesn't look like I'm going to step inside one real soon.

1. Yes, Yes, I'm sure Christ was SO happy with the exploitative
Wal-Mart business model.

These fuckers are SO clueless.

5. Didn't start out that way
The founder demanded only good made in the USA, the workers got stock in the company so were part owners. Lots of good things and intentions they have fallen far away from.

My son was telling me awhile ago that they are trying to go greener. They had Al Gore in to talk to a gathering of them and make suggestions. They have started to change some things...don't recall what but my kid was enthusiastic because with such a huge company even small changes can male a big environmental impact. He isn't impressed enough to shop there though.
It led to a discussion of what if if companies chose to be socially responsible, they are made up of people.

2. Geez, you had me worried there for a moment
I was 85% of the way thru you post and I was in *horror* thinking, "please apply a cool cloth to this guy's head!"

Thankfully, the last few sentences of your post let me know that you weren't suffering from some weird fever or believing the hallucination. :hi:

Peace,

3. God must REALLY love Exxon!
He blessed them with the highest profits of any corporation in history last quarter. Which topped the previous record set by--you guessed it--Exxon, in the quarter before that.

Still, I'm wracking my feeble brain for ways that Exxon honored Jesus. Maybe by lifting their eyes unto the hills (especially Capitol Hill) and uttering cries of gratitude like "Jesus Christ, are we sticking it to these suckers, or what??"
