I remember the last stanza of this poem because it was featured (in part) in one of Walt Kelly's "Pogo" books. It popped into my head, quite unbidden, as I was thinking of the behavior of certain scalawags in the American body politic, and how blind they are to the impressions they create, versus what they think (or seem to think) of themselves.

The last stanza is below, in Burns' original Scots, which is how I first saw it:

O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
An' foolish notion:
What airs in dress an' gait wad lea'e us,
An' ev'n devotion!
