RE: Europe VS the USA: Campaigns

America is all about the sex when it comes to dirty politics. There's Ford, there's Foley, and now there's the one about the naughty Democrat's steamy novel.

I imagine that contentious campaigns exist in Europe, but for the most part, I don't see alot of sex scandals or allegations of voter fraud.

During the last UK PM election, I was witness to something that one would NEVER see in America; a town hall meeting where British citizens got up and RAKED Blair over the coals. They asked all kind of questions, they were yelling at him.

Is it true that Europe is light years ahead of the US, or am I just so used to our BS that I can't imagine it being much worse anywhere else?

2. Two things I prefer about UK elections

They have Question Time where the candidate is on his own and grilled by Dimbleby and the audience.

Their campaigns last three weeks.

Okay, three things. They don't have electronic voting machines!! It's all HAND-COUNTED.
