According to various polling sites, the states that are the closest and will turn the Senate are Missouri, Tennessee and Virginia. There are some others that are close, but these are dead heats (slight advantage republican).

Just thought I'd pass it along if anyone is looking to throw money somewhere :)

(see electoral-vote.com for some good stats)

Thanks for the info and don't waste your money sending to Dems in Mississippi.

I'll apologize in advance. trent lott will return to the senate for another six years.

2. I would add New Jersey to that list
it's the only real pick up opportunity for the GOP in this Senate cycle. Menendez leads but it's within the margin of error and he is the incumbent and is polling between 40-44 percent. The National Republican Senate campaign is also about to pour $3.5 million into this race.

3. I am really torn ...
In each of those states, the better "man" is clearly the democrat ... And, I want to see Allen and Talent out of congress BAD ... They just don't deserve it, being the pandering (and in Allen's case, a certifiable idiot) POC that they are ...

Santorum HAS to go ... HAS to, as does Dewine ... And Burns ... If you had to chose, Chaffee seems to be one of a VERY rare breed, a reasonable and sane republican, but he seems to be done ...

I still don't have a good feeling about Menendez being able to hold on ...

Assuming the House goes, I would almost be OK with if the senate falls one short ... With Bushco in the White House, and the senate being at a break even point, there is no chance any real legislation is going to get done the next two years ... And, it would temper the drum beats a bit from the right for what will be the big time marching theme for the next two years, starting on November 6 - the world will IMPLODE if the democrats get all three branches ... That WILL be their rallying point in firing up for the presidential race ...
